Duo Cavez / Paulson
A meeting between a Belgian accordionist and a Swedish nyckelharpist, playing tunes flavored by their traditional language as well as their own musical personalities. In the hands of Sophie Cavez and Josefina Paulson first prioritet is always the pulsating beat and every note gets groove oriented. With the rich overtones from the sympathetic strings of the nyckelharpa, melting together with the warm chords and powerful baselines from Sophie’s accordion- they create soundscapes and a garden of music, both for your ears to find a peaceful rest in and the joy and space to move your body in dance.
Sophie and Josefina have been playing a lot together in the quartet SIRUS that started as a collaboration between the two strong duos Cavez / Montanaro and Paulson / Åkerlund. After releasing their album Lummen, the members of the quartet have taken new roads and Sophie and Josefina decided to explore the possibilities of melting their two voice together. Reflecting life, as mothers, musicians and human beings, in new compositions for this project, they invite you to join them on their journey.
